The parting gift
I love my Cousin J. Two weeks ago she moved from Washington D.C. to Nicaragua. She had been cleaning house, prior to that, for several more weeks.
The day she flew out, this box appeared in my mail pile, postage on the back:
This is what it looks like out of the box:
Voilà!

To be totally honest, there might be another reader who recognizes the origin of the gift! I think it's the kind that we should receive, enjoy, then pass along!
hmmm. when i first saw this I thought it looked familiar, but i just got off a skype session with cousin j and it did originate with me. glad you can enjoy it Karin!
She rents an apartment in a neighborhood of trendy condos.
Her bike is vintage Raleigh. Her car is from 1991.
The cat's litter box is next to her bed and she doesn't own a dresser.
She likes to make fun of herself.
Occasionally she runs marathons.
And yes, she has to wear glasses. Contacts are not an option.

@cousin j.
I think this situation is ripe for a reader contest, with the winner taking home the kissed toad! (I'll work on something....)
