Benefit (2)

It's always during the mental health weekend
(which was going quite well, BTW)
when,
while standing in an inexplicable Sunday-morning line at Starbucks,
I see walking towards me
and who,
on this day,
makes eye contact and then
as my lips breathe open to form the word "hey",
looks away as if we didn't really make eye contact
and keeps on walking
(as if he had never held my hand through the whole movie and kissed me in the bus shelter at the end of Date #1 and on the corner of Boylston and Tremont and in front of California Pizza Kitchen and while waiting for the train on Date #2).

Another benefit of dating like a fiend:
this kind of shit would have destroyed me.

But by now I'm just kind of used to it.

And it has been a good Sunday.

Glad to hear it! :) Obviously, he knows he is the one who screwed up. In general, I've always had the impression men will do what they think is necessary to avoid what they perceive might be a potential conflict. Someone else's cowardice is certainly no reason to get upset.
