Meant to ask, Karin: does our current weather compare favorably/unfavorably with June in your native North Dakota? Idle thought while trying not, like Ishmael, to put ball and pistol to my head on a November-like day.
I know the rain sucks, but it's supposed to be 98 here today with a thick layer of haze. The heat index was 110 yesterday! Thankfully it's supposed to be back to normal tomorrow.
@Squig. Boston and NoDak weather is shockingly similar....just subtract the ocean warming effect for the latter. We've had this. We've had drought and the 100s. It's really different every year.
When I was in college, we used to blame every weather anomaly on El Nino. Or El Nina.
I really don't think of myself as a seasonal affective disorder type, but this is ridiculous. I almost put my computer through the patio door this morning. Oy.
@RG -- can you just mail up like, say 5 degrees and a couple inches of blue sky? Meanwhile, don't you dare be running in that muck...
@Karin. Pardon, please, this holder of a minor in peninsular Spanish, but the system you've valiantly tried to name is La Nina. Fear not, though, my dear mother is driving up from the Mississippi Gulf Coast (high today, 100 degrees F) with some of that heat and sun.
As to Boston vs NoDak, we do lie at similar latitudes, so let's both blame Canada and be done with this. :)
Continuing on the subject of weather, I realize this is my weather by birth, but I do feel as if I may have been living inside a car wash for the last three weeks. Might we sacrifice ONE human, a la the Aztecs, for the return of the sun. Just one .....
